Description:
The Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at Michigan State University seeks to appoint a faculty member with expertise in neuroimaging and speech-language processing. The position is tenure-track and open rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor); CCC-SLP is preferred. Individuals with an outstanding research profile that includes existing extramural funding or clear potential to acquire funding are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will establish a neuroimaging research program that is at the forefront of speech-language processing and also core to the mission of the Department. Other responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, and research mentoring of graduate students. A research emphasis on speech-language processing is required. Research on multilingualism and/or on the neurological processing of human communication disorders is particularly welcomed. Michigan State University is a research-intensive, land-grant institution with fourteen colleges and two medical schools. Administrative support for interdepartmental collaboration and joint appointments is substantial. Faculty of the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders work closely with a number of units across campus, including Cognitive Science, Linguistics, Psychology, and Radiology. The Department of Radiology has state-of-the-art neuroimaging research facilities that will be fully available to the candidate selected.
