"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Crosslinguistic Influence and Multilingualism

We invite colleagues to submit original research dealing with crosslinguistic influence and multilingualism for publication in an edited volume. Acknowledged experts as well as young researchers are invited to send their contributions. There are no restrictions with respect to theoretical and methodological approaches or language combinations. All studies are expected to include a combination of a minimum of three languages. All submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer review. If you intend to submit, please send us a preliminary title and a short abstract by April 20, 2013. Manuscripts are due on 31 August 2013.
