Contemporary Approaches to Cuban Spanish Dialectology

Proposals for book chapters are solicited for a new volume titled (tentatively), Contemporary Approaches to Cuban Spanish Dialectology. Georgetown University Press has expressed interest in publishing the volume. The volume will examine the most contemporary research on Cuban Spanish linguistics today. Contributions are invited on the following four areas of research: phonological and phonetic issues, syntactic and morphosyntactic issues/variation, sociolinguistic approaches/variation, language contact and change (e.g., Cuban Spanish in contact with English in the U.S, Afro-Hispanic influences). The chapter could either be empirical or theoretical in nature, and it should be written in English.
Abstracts should be 400-450 words in length, and be specific in regards to contribution to current theory and research. Please also submit a short CV in addition to your abstract. Submissions should be sent in Word format to the editor.
The abstracts will be put through peer review by GUP as well as the complete volume. Authors whose abstracts are selected will be invited to submit their work to the volume.

Notification of abstract acceptance: December 1st, 2014
Full chapter deadline: June 20, 2015 (targeted)
