Jost Gippert: Our Featured Linguist!

"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. The Applied Linguistics Association of Australia (ALAA) now has a
World Wide Web site. It's in the preliminary stages, and we hope
to enhance it considerably early in 1997.

The URL is http://www.cltr.uq.oz.au:8000/alaa

linguistics publications (articles, books, dissertations, etc.)
with the intention of making them publicly available (in bibtex

If anyone has references they are willing to share, in particular
from the last 4 years, please either send them to me or let me
know where I can get at them.

Although in principle I'm only interested in either bibtex or
refer format references, a large database in another format may
be interesting, depending on the size and contents.
