"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. FYI Body: The Mon-Khmer Studies Journal (MKS) has moved into the internet publication age and will now be published exclusively in electronic form. MKS is a fully refereed, open-access journal sponsored by Mahidol University (Bangkok) and SIL International. MKS is available at http://mksjournal.org.

As of Volume 41 (2012) the Mon-Khmer Studies Journal has moved to only being published on-line. Peer review, yearly volume numbering, and continuous pagination will be maintained, but articles will be made available on line as soon as they complete the submission/ referee/ acceptance/ revision process.
