"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. FYI Body: Baltic Linguistics (http://www.polon.uw.edu.pl/balticlinguistics/) is heading to become the leading platform for theoretically and typologically informed research into the Baltic languages. It is a peer-reviewed yearbook publishing only contributions in international languages (preferably English, but also German, French and Russian) meeting requirements of quality, theoretical interest and width of scope.

We now invite contributions for Volume 4 (2013). The deadline for articles is March 31, 2013.

Manuscripts conforming to the guidelines laid down in the Instructions for Authors (http://www.kjoib.uw.edu.pl/instructions.pdf) should be sent to the manager editor Axel Holvoet (axel.holvoet@uw.ed.pl). Proposals for book reviews should be sent to the review editor Peter M. Arkadiev (alpgurev@gmail.com). The deadline for reviews is June 30.
