Media: Northern California Dialect 'Boontling' Nearing Extinction
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that 'Boontling', a dialect of English spoken only in a small town in northern California, is down to 12 speakers. It can at times be unintelligible to mainstream American English speakers due to its unique jargon.
