The Department of Modern Languages and the Department of Finnish, Finno-Ugrian and Scandinavian Studies invite you to participate in the international conference of Baltic linguistics, continuing the conference cycle Baltic Days and White Nights started in St Petersburg in June 2008. The main theme of the conference will be contacts between the Baltic and the Uralic (Finno-Ugrian) languages - both from a synchronic and a diachronic perspective. Abstracts on other aspects of Baltic linguistics will also be considered.
The participation fee is 30 Euros that will cover 3 coffee breaks and the conference dinner, as well as the necessary conference materials. The lunches are not included in the fee, but there are several relatively modest price lunch restaurants near to Metsätalo.
|Linguistic Subfield:||Historical Linguistics; General Linguistics; Sociolinguistics|
