Meeting Description:	MICFL2013, with its theme ‘Foreign Languages for Specific Purposes: Communication for Development’ aims to: - Provide a world class international forum for exchange of opinions on role of foreign language for specific purposes in the 21st century, its importance as a tool of communication that is needed in the globalized society and its potential to accelerate all forms of growth and development. - Provide a platform for discussion amongst administrators, researchers, academics and practitioners of foreign languages to achieve consensus on the functions and the way forward for foreign languages in the context of our nation's academic and economic growth in line with globalisation. - Promote research and development (R&D) activities in languages and literatures, as well as in international relations and foreign cultures, in line with the new global direction. - Provide a platform for participants to share recent innovations in the methodology of teaching and learning foreign languages, literatures and cultures.
