Meeting Description: This workshop is second in series to the 1st Workshop on Tone and Intonation (WTI1) that was held between 26 and 27 January 2012 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. This year the focus of the workshop is on developing linguistic and computational models of tone and intonation that can be evaluated against large-scale data. To that end, the emphasis for this workshop is on building a collaborative environment for linguists, speech scientists and technologists. The workshop will consist of invited talks by experts from fields of linguistics, speech sciences, and signal processing. The primary goal of the workshop is to facilitate interdisciplinary research between these related fields and also to provide direction to students and scholars working in the fields of tone and intonation.
