Sponsored by: Theoretical Linguistics at Keio (TaLK) and The Semantics Research Group Institute for Cultural and Linguistic Studies, Keio University Dates: September 3-4, 2013 Invited Speakers: James Higginbotham, USC Irene Heim, MIT Yael Sharvit, UCLA This conference is on the semantics of attitude attribution. Potential areas of interest include but are not limited to de se interpretation, the de re / de dicto distinction, interpreting pronouns in attitude contexts, presupposition in attitude contexts, control, knowledge attribution and the Gettier problem, comparing modal and sentential analyses of attitude ascriptions, shifting interpretation of embedded indexicals and tense, interpreting modals in attitude contexts, and modeling contradictory beliefs and distinguishing necessary truths (logical omniscience).
