Surviving and Thriving in Multilingual Spaces

The School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Queensland is pleased to announce the 2014 Rhizomes Conference.

Multilingual contexts are spaces in which cultures, languages and literatures can meet, negotiate identities and provide opportunities as well as obstacles for intercultural understanding. This conference will explore the struggle to reconcile tradition with innovation, cultural identity and language with the persistent influence of global power relations.

The Conference welcomes postgraduate and early career researchers, providing a stimulating intellectual environment for the presentation of current research in the interdisciplinary fields of language, linguistics, literature and cultural studies.
