"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Meeting Description: Created in 1998, the Rencontres Jeunes Chercheurs (RJC) of the Doctoral School « Langage et langues » (ED 268, Sorbonne Nouvelle University- Paris 3) is an opportunity for junior researchers preparing for a master's degree or a doctorate, but also for post-doctorates, to present their work in paper or poster sessions.

The conference is open to graduate students (master's degree, doctorate), and researchers. There is no registration fee. A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants.
