"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Meeting Description: PARSEME COST Action IC1207 (www.parseme.eu) is dedicated to parsing and multi-word expressions.

It gathers multidisciplinary experts from 29 countries. It is structured into four Working Groups:

- WG1: Lexicon/Grammar Interface
- WG2: Parsing Techniques for MWEs
- WG3: Statistical, Hybrid and Multilingual Processing of MWEs
- WG4: Annotating MWEs in Treebanks

The second general meeting of PARSEME will take place on 10-11 March 2014 in Athens. It will be organized by the Institute for Language and Speech Processing of the Athena Research Center.

The meeting will start on Monday 10.03.2014 morning with a plenary session, and will continue on Monday p.m. and Tuesday 11.03.2014 with poster sessions and partly parallel Working Group (WG) sessions.
