"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Media and Intercultural Communication in the European Context

The Conference shall be held at the North-Caucasus Federal University (venue: 1, Pushkin Street, Stavropol, Russia 355009). Languages: Russian, English, German. A volume of articles shall be published prior to the conference.

The activities to be held include master-classes delivered by the leading Russian and foreign experts with respective certificates awarded to the participants (for more details, please see Newsletter №2). The participants shall be also offered a tour to the Caucasus Mineral Waters area (Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk).

The participants shall be offered accommodation (dormitories; appr. cost – 1,000 RUR per day). All the expenses related to the trip shall be covered by the referring party.
