|Meeting Description:||The present symposium aims to gather researchers who are studying the presence and role of metaphor in academic conversation – whether this takes place in classrooms, seminars, tutorials, one-to-one MA and PhD supervisions or office hours’ consultations. We are interested in research being done on the role of metaphor in academic talk in these contexts, regardless of the language being used, with a particular focus on work being done on intercultural conversation in these academic settings.
This one-day symposium will feature keynote talks by Annelie Ädel (University of Dalarna, Sweden) and Fiona MacArthur (University of Extremadura).
