|Meeting Description:||The 20th Biennial Meeting of the International Circle of Korean Linguistics (ICKL20) will be held at the University of Helsinki, Finland on 27-29 June 2017. This meeting will be the first international conference since the merger of the two international scholarly organizations focused on Korean Linguistics, Harvard-ISOKL (Harvard International Symposium on Korean Linguistics) and the ICKL (International Circle of Korean Linguistics). These organizations hav formerly held productive biennial conferences for the last two decades on alternating years.
The plenary speakers for the meeting are:

Consonant with the Centennial Anniversary of the Independence of Finland, the ICKL20 conference features two special programs in memory of Gustaf J. Ramstedt (1873-‐1950), Finland Swedish diplomat and linguist who specialized in Altaic languages:
(i) Distinguished Lecture by Fred Karlsson (Professor Emeritus, U. of Helsinki)
(ii) Special Panel on “One Hundred Years of Korean and Japanese since Ramstedt (1924)”:
This panel is dedicated to the legacy of Gustaf Ramstedt who was a pioneer in the historical-‐comparative linguistics of East Asian languages, particularly, Korean and Japanese. Panelists include:
