Meeting Description: The Centre for Linguistic Research (CLR) at the University of Sheffield will hold its first postgraduate conference on 4-5 February 2014. ShefLingPGC is organised by postgraduate students from across all departments of language and linguistics. This two-day conference is designed to give linguistics postgraduates from all research areas an opportunity to present and discuss their research in a friendly and intellectually stimulating setting at the University of Sheffield.

We are proud to confirm the following plenary speakers for ShefLing PGC 2014 (titles of talks to be confirmed):

Professor Susan Fitzmaurice (School of English, University of Sheffield)
Professor Neil Bermel (School of Russian and Slavonic Studies, University of Sheffield)
Dr. Dominic Watt (Department of Language and Linguistic Science, University of York)

We will also be having workshops dealing with Public Engagement, Research Methods and Publication especially designed for postgraduate students.
