Meeting Description:	21st annual SALSA (Symposium on Language and Society) Theme: “Language Variation and Change” University of Texas at Austin April 12-13, 2013 The Symposium About Language and Society-Austin (SALSA) is an annual symposium promoting linguistic and sociolinguistic research at The University of Texas at Austin. Originally created through the joint efforts of students from the Linguistic and Anthropology Departments at The University of Texas, SALSA has developed into a truly interdisciplinary conference with contributions from various fields, including communication studies, foreign language education, educational psychology, media studies, speech communication, and numerous language departments. Our annual proceedings appear in special editions of Texas Linguistic Forum. Featured Keynotes: Sergio Romero (University of Texas at Austin) Spike Gildea (University of Oregon) Jacob Eisenstein (Georgia Tech) Plus: Spanish in Texas Project (Directed by Barbara Bullock and Jacqueline Toribio, UT Austin) Also presenting will be special guest Samy Alim. Conference presented by the SALSA Graduate Student Organization at UT Austin.
