***Extended deadline for abstract submission: January 15, 2012*** The 48th Annual Meeting of the Chicago Linguistic Society will be held April 19-21, 2012 at the University of Chicago. This year's conference will include a general main session as well as three parasessions dedicated to: a) Agreement; b) Meaning and Cognition; c) Historical Phonology and Morphology. The Chicago Linguistic Society invites abstracts for talks which are 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for a question-and-answer session. We welcome papers from all major linguistic subfields and frameworks, as well as from related cross-disciplinary areas. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author. Presented papers will be published in the CLS proceedings. Please refer to the meeting’s website for information such as invited speakers, brief descriptions of the parasessions, and abstract submission guidelines.
