SECOL is a regional conference that regularly welcomes both domestic and international scholars as well as graduate and even undergraduate students who have valuable insights to share. We are well-known for our broad interests within the fields of language and linguistics and have a history of focus on regional language of the South.

Conference Themes

- Teaching Undergraduate Language and Linguistics
- African American English in Education and Society
Solicited Submissions
While submissions relating to the conference themes are especially solicited, research findings in all areas of language and linguistics are welcome.

We welcome thoughtful contributions from academics and professionals as well as graduate and undergraduate students - the later particularly when under the advisement of a faculty mentor. Panels of graduate and undergraduate students together with their teachers reflecting on various pedagogical techniques are also solicited.
