This conference will have four main themes: • Bilingual grammar • Bilingual speech • Bilingual development • Bilingual education The conference is intended to bring together specialists in bilingualism from various areas, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, bilingual and multilingual education, neuroscience (and others) Keynote speakers: • Jasone Cenoz (University of the Basque Country) • Tony Cline (University College London) • Virginia Mueller Gathercole (ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism, Bangor University) • Durk Gorter (IkerBasque Foundation for Science) • Shana Poplack (University of Ottawa) • Winifred Strange (City University of New York) • Guillaume Thierry (ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism, Bangor University) • Janet Werker (University of British Columbia) Important Dates: Abstract submission deadline: October 1, 2011 Notification of acceptance: November 15, 2011 Conference: March 30- April 1, 2012 Requirements & Submission Information: We invite abstracts for talks or posters in any areas addressing bilingualism. Abstracts should be no more than 300 words. As reviewing will be blind, the paper should not include the authors' names and affiliations. Each abstract should be submitted as a PDF file following the instructions on EasyAbs. If the number and quality of papers stemming from the conference is high enough, we would like to submit a proposal for a published collection of papers. In that event any papers submitted would be subject to a separate review process.
