Coconut-Buttermilk-Cake

Story behind this Recipe:
One of my brother's and dad's favorites
Ingredients:
2 cups white flour
2 cups buttermilk
1.5 cups sugar
2 eggs
4-5 tsp baking powder
2 cups grated coconut
0.5 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup liquid whipping cream
Prep Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 20 min
Units: US
Serves: 10-15
Cooking Instructions:
1) grease baking pan with butter
2) mix flour and baking powder and sieve it into a big bowl
3) add eggs, buttermilk and sugar and mix well
4) pour dough in baking pan
5) mix coconut, sugar and vanilla and distribute across cake
6) bake at 340°F for 20 min
7) distribute liquid cream over cake with a spoon while the cake is still warm
8) let cool

the last step says to spoon cream over the cooked cake but the recipe doesn't say anything about cream - what kind and how much approximately?
