Welcome to Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville is located in the heart of East Tennessee, near the headwaters of the Tennessee River. It is the home of the Tennessee Valley Authority, and is located just a few miles from the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

To the left you can find some fun facts about Knoxville. Below are some interesting places to visit.

The Knoxville Zoo is a great place to take the kids on a cool spring day. You can watch elephants and zebras in the grasslands exhibit, pet some goats in the Kid's Cove, and have an ice cream cone before riding the train.


A statue of Alex Haley, author of Roots,is located in Haley Heritage Square. The artist has depicted Haley as a man of the people, dressed in casual clothes; sitting beside a stream; reading a book and gazing at the Smoky Mountains he loved. Visitors can gaze up at his warm, friendly face, forever lost in thought. His left hand holds a copy of his book Roots, while his right hand reaches out, as though punctuating a story he's telling. In searching for his roots, this master storyteller found a story of love for humankind.


Old Gray Cemetary, 13 acres of beauty and history, is over 150 years old. Although the land was purchased in 1850 the cemetery was not dedicated until 1852 when the first 40 lots were sold at public auction. Today Old Gray clearly depicts Knoxville's history as well as the Victorian era and provides an important example of cemetery planning and design during the rural-cemetery or garden movement.


The Knoxville Museum of Art howcases exhibitions from around the world and a permanent collection of contemporary art. The museum contains four galleries, gardens and a museum shop. Accredited by the American Association of Museums.


The Dogwood Arts Festival is an annual tradition that showcases Knoxville's gorgeous flowering dogwood trees with scenic drives through historic neighborhood. It is accompanied by a festival of art, food, and music that are traditional to East Tennessee.
