Brief Description : A language spoken in the in the old parish of Övdaln, in the southern part of Älvdalen Municipality in Northern Dalarna, Sweden. It shows considerable archaism, and preserves many features of Old Norse. Once considered a dialect of Swedish, its incomprehensibility to Swedish-speakers and its considerable difference from Swedish makes it better viewed as a separate language.
