LINGUIST of the Day
Karen Milligan - Wayne State University
|
In addition to showcasing famous linguists who have been influential in our lives, we'd also like to shine some light on former LINGUIST Listers who have gone on to bigger and better (is it
possible to be better than LINGUIST?) things. With the help of subscriber donations,
these "LINGUISTs of the Day" were able to complete their M.A. degrees. Please donate now so we can keep these success stories coming! |

A Step-by-Step Tale
1.Karen Milligan enrolled at Wayne State University as a grad student
majoring in linguistics.
2.After she had taken one class, Helen Aristar Dry and Anthony Aristar
hired Karen Milligan as a student editor for The Linguist List.
3.The Linguist List, funded by your donations, paid the tuition for
all Karen Milligan's course work.
4.Karen Milligan (sadly) resigned her duties as Editor in Chief of The
Linguist List to work on her Master's Essay.
5.The day she defended her essay, Karen Milligan was asked if she
wanted to teach an undergrad class.
6.Karen Milligan is now an adjunct faculty member in the Linguistics
Department at Wayne State University.
7.Karen Milligan thanks everyone whose contributions made this story
possible!
