Lydia Grebenyova

Lydia Grebenyova

Lydia Grebenyova was a LINGUIST List editor almost 10 years ago (1999-2001). She came to LINGUIST all the way from Russia after finishing her degree in English and German from Voronezh State Pedagogical University. While at Eastern Michigan University (home of the LINGUIST List), she won both The Brenner Scholarship and The Writing Award.

Since her time here as a student editor, Lydia has gone on to earn a Ph.D. in Linguistics from University of Maryland-College Park. She is now an Assistant Professor at Baylor University teaching syntax, grammar and introductory linguistics courses to both graduate and undergraduate students. Visit her website at http://www3.baylor.edu/~Lydia_Grebenyova/

Specializing in syntax, Lydia has worked on sluicing and interrogatives, particularly in the Slavic languages. She is also interested in language acquisition, semantics, and taking care of shelter animals.

In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, she is also the advisor for the Baylor University Linguistics Club.
