Introduction

Shreveport, LA Shreveport is the 3rd largest city in Louisiana, and the 109th largest city in the United States. The population of Shreveport in the 2010 census was 199,311, and together with Bossier City, the Shreveport-Bossier City Metropolitan Area forms a population exceeding 441,000. The Red River runs through the middle of the Metropolitan Area, separating the cities.

Shreveport is the seat of Caddo Parish, and is the commercial and cultural center of the Ark-La-Tex region, where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet. Shreveport is sometimes referred to as "The Port City."
