HALFTIME RESEARCH POSITION ON DIALOGUE SEMANTICS AND INTERPRETATION at HUMBOLD UNIVERSIT\196T BERLIN (E.Lang, R.Blutner) The Research Project "Dialogsemantik" is a 2-year project to develop formal models for semantic and pragmatic aspects of dialogue interpretation. Starting point are well studied phenomena of monological discourse (like anaphora, definite and indefinite descriptions, scalar implikatures), and their behaviour under dialogue conditions. Here, the project aims at a further development of existing methods of model theoretic semantics. An essential part of the research project is the study the ecolocical validity of the proposed formal models. Here, we invite applications for a half time position in our research team. The position will involve work in experimental psycholinguistics and/or corpus linguistics. The successful candidate should have a degree in Linguistics, Psycholinguistics or a related field. He should have experience in experimental psychological studies (strongly preferred) and /or corpus linguistics. He will have the opportunity to work together with researchers coming from very different fields. The position is available from 1.st August 1999 or as soon as possible thereafter.
