The Graduate Institute of Peace Studies Kyung Hee University is seeking Language teacher--support staff of English related activities 1. Translingua, Inc., a full-service international communications company in Columbia, MD, has immediate openings for four lexicographers for a one-year project with potential for longer-term assignment. The project involves using the Transcend machine translation system, developing terminology lists, preparing terminology for dictionary entry, researching and assigning translations, defining grammatical tags, and testing and trouble-shooting of MT output. We are looking for two native speakers of Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Requirements include at least a BS in linguistics, translation or terminology, fluency in English, experience as a translator, lexicographer or terminologist, experience or interest in machine translation, and familiarity with basic computer software and Windows '95. Training will be provided for qualified individuals. These positions are full-time in-house in our Columbia, MD office.
