This is to advertise research studentships available at Middlesex University to start this academic year (1999-2000). One of the possible areas is "linguistics, especially pragmatics, semantics and stylistics". This is the main bit of an ad which will be appearing shortly in the Times Higher Education Supplement and the Guardian. I'd be happy to discuss the studentships informally with anyone who is interested. *********************************************** School of Humanities and Cultural Studies, Middlesex University Research Studentships in English (6855 stipend + 1200 teaching bursary + fees, per annum, in pounds) The School intends to create up to three fully-funded three-year Research Studentships for appropriately qualified candidates wishing to study for a PhD in English Literary Studies.
