Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for bi-lingual word-lists listing the most common words
translated from English to French/German/Spanish and Italian.

The word list would be something like this:
book: livre
man: homme
ETC.

Of course in some cases owing to polysemy the glosses would be more
than one.

I would appreciate if any one knowing of sites where such lists could
be found or alternatively willing to share her word-list could oblige.
I promise to post a summary if there are sufficient number of replies,

Dear linguists,

I'm new to LINGUIST. I doing my MA in socilinguistics. I was working
with Varbrul2 for MSDOS. MY problem is the following: I've went through
the checktok, readtok and makecell3000 with no problem but when I come
to Varb2000 (ivarb), I have the following message:
More than 2000 cells, error number 6.
Maybe I have got an old version of varbrul. If this is the case, please
help me find a new version through the internet. Or if there is another
solution, please let me know.

I am currently working on a paper regarding the impact of computer
mediated communication on language change in general and computer
mediated discourse as a kind of language change in itself. I would
appreciate it very much if you could supply me with information about
articles on this topic that have already been published, especially if
