Position Description Assistant/Associate Professor Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders The Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders at Queens College of the City University of New York seeks to fill a tenure-track position in the Fall of 2000. The successful candidate must have a specialization in Second Language Acquisition and preparation for ESL teacher education. Additional desirable areas for teaching and/or research are the following: Literacy, Assessment and Psychometrics, and Psycholinguistics. The person who fills this position will teach in undergraduate and Master's programs in General and Applied Linguistics, which includes ESL teacher education. There is also an opportunity to join the doctoral faculty of the Ph.D. Program in Linguistics at the CUNY Graduate School. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Linguistics or a related field and must demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship in the relevant areas. Appointment will be made at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Salaries range from $32,062 to $55,930 for Assistant Professor and from $41,780 to $66,837 for Associate Professors.
