Positions available at Da-Yeh University, Taiwan The College of Foreign Languages at Da-Yeh Unviersity in Taiwan announces two full-time tenure-track positions in German. The starting date for the positions is August 1, 2000. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in German, German as a foreign language, or some other related field by the starting date of the position. They should have some formal training or experiences in teaching German as a foreign language. All applicants with the qualifications above are welcome. However, preference will be given to German native speakers. Applications should reach Da-Yeh University by January 31, 2000. DYU English Language Department Openings The English Language Department at Da-Yeh University has numerous full-time openings beginning Spring and Fall of 2000. AT OR ABOVE THE LEVEL OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, there are Spring and Fall openings for any applicant with a PhD and a strong publication record in Linguistics, English teaching or English literature (9 positions) OR a PhD in Lignuistics, English teaching, English literature or Education and substantial experience in teaching English to children (1 position). AT OR ABOVE THE LEVEL OF LECTURER, there are Fall openings only for any applicant with at least three years of hands-on experience in international trade in Taiwan and a Masters degree or PhD in Linguistics, English teaching, English literature or Management (1 position) OR at least two years of experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and a Masters degree or PhD in Linguistics, English teaching, English literature or Education (1 position) OR at least two years experience as an English/Chinese interpreter and a Masters degree or PhD in a related field. Though Masters candidates are eligible to apply for the latter three positions, PhDs are preferable. All work experience must be formally documented. Qualified applicants should send their materials to the Search Committee by October 1 for the Spring 2000 openings and April 1 for the Fall 2000 openings.
