Wayne State University German & Slavic Studies, Detroit, Michigan 48202 Assistant/Associate Professor of German Wayne State University announces an opening for a tenure-track assistant professor or associate professor (tenure possible) in second-language acquisition/pedagogy. The position provides the opportunity to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in German, to collaborate with other language departments in developing our newly established Master of Arts in Language Learning, and to teach in our long-standing interdepartmental Ph.D. program in Modern Languages. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in German; an excellent record of college-level teaching experience; a demonstrated record of ongoing scholarly research and publications in the field of second-language acquisition/pedagogy commensurate with appointment at either the assistant-professor or associate-professor level; the ability to advise teaching assistants and graduate students working in this area of specialization; and native or near-native fluency in German. Starting date August 2000.
