Grand Valley State University. Assistant Professor of English, tenure-track (TESOL/Applied Linguistics). The Department of English at Grand Valley State University seeks an applied linguist to fill a tenure-track position in English. The position starts August, 2000. Requirements: Doctorate in TESOL, applied linguists, or related field. ABD considered if degree is completed by date of employment. The position requires teaching and research experience in general and applied linguistics, with expertise in at least two of the following areas: ESL methods, sociolinguistics, history of English, second language acquisition, assessment, minority language acquisition and/or literacy studies. Public school ESL experience preferred. Responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and graduate linguistics and TESOL courses. Salary and benefits are competitive.
