POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT September 27, 1999 ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TENURE TRACK) The Department of Linguistics of The University of Arizona has an opening for an Assistant Professor, to start in the academic year 2000/2001. The primary qualifications are promise for excellence in undergraduate teaching, graduate training and research. The research need is for someone with a strong program in the study of phonetics or the phonetics/phonology interface. Strength in any of the following areas will also be considered: American Indian Linguistics or Computational Linguistics or Morphology or Phonology. Candidates should submit a letter of application, three letters of reference and a curriculum vita to the address below. Review of applications begins November 1, 1999 and will continue until position is filled. Ph.D. will be required at the time of appointment.
