Can anyone suggest where to find a questionnaire that tests novices' knowledge about language (and society) that can serve as a pretest for first year students in an undergrad freshperson's course on Language and Society? This linguistics "IQ" test would ask some general questions about language and would focus on matters pertaining to "language and society". It would be given at the beginning of the course (or section in a course). If anyone is willing to share such a questionnaire, not matter how partial, it would be appreciated.
