University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Scandinavian Studies ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, OR FULL PROFESSOR OF SCANDINAVIAN LINGUISTICS Anticipated August 28, 2000. Expertise in Scandinavian linguistics and a strong background in either Old Norse or Finnish is required. Fluency in a modern Scandinavian language is also required. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses on Scandinavian linguistics and either Old Norse or Finnish folklore/literature/language. Expertise in Germanic philology, Germanic linguistics, or language pedagogy is highly desirable. Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent from a Scandinavian Department, a Linguistics Department, or a comparable program. Teaching experience desired.
