publications. Good working knowledge of Windows, databases and 
educational software. M.A. or higher in Education, ESL, a language 
other than English, or related field. Strong interest in FL pedagogy

The Department of English of Daito BunkaUniversity, a private university
in Tokyo, is seeking two native English-speaking contract lecturers (one
with a doctoral degree in socio-linguistics and the other with a
doctoral degree in TEFL/TESL) to begin work as of April 2000. The
contract is to be for two years, and may be extended for two one-year
terms. Duties involve maintaining office hours five days aweek, teaching
eight 90-minute English lessons per week, providing a native check of
English documents written by Japanese-speaking staff, and
undertaking other matters related to English teaching. The annual
starting slary will be between 3,500,00 to 5,250,000 yen, depending on
experience and age, with annual salary increases scheduled. Japanese
health insurance and other benefits will be provided. The deadline for
