Institute Of Linguistics, Academia SinicaFour(4) Tenure-track Positions--Open-rank, Open-specialization The Institute of Linguistics of Academia Sinica in Taipei invites applications for research positions in linguistics. Four tenure-track positions are immediately available, with additional positions expected to open up in future years. Non-tenure track post-doctoral positions pending budgetary approval are also available. These are pure research positions with no teaching requirement.Both rank and area of specialization are open, though preference will be given to those with interest and experience in Asian languages such as Chinese, Austronesian, Austroasiatic, and Tibeto-Burman languages. Minimal qualifications are a Ph.D. degree in hand at time of appointment, a thorough training in general linguistics and given areas of specialization, and a strong commitment to excellence in research and publication. The starting salary for an Assistant Research Fellow, the same level as that of an assistant professor at a national university, is NT$864,780 (about US$25,500 per annum but with a much higher purchasing power in Taiwan), plus fringe benefits including health insurance, bonuses, and travel subsidies.
