Dear collegues,

please notice the following corrected version of a job- offer at 
the department of Linguistics, Vienna university:

Am Institut fr Sprachwissenschaft der Geisteswissenschaftlichen
Fakultt der Universitt Wien ist fr die Zeit vom Wintersemester 1999
bis zum Sommersemester 2002 (1.10.1999 bis 30.6.2002) die Stelle
eines/r Gastprofessors/in fr Angewandte Sprachwissenschaft als Ersatz
fr Prof. Wodak zu besetzen.

BewerberInnen sollten wenigstens zwei der folgenden vier Gebiete in
Forschung und Lehre abdecken: (Kritische) Diskursanalyse,
sprachbezogene gender studies, Soziolinguistik und
Organisationskommunikation. Die Ausrichtung ist stark
interdisziplinr.

BewerberInnen mssen Deutsch knnen, 8 Stunden Lehre bernehmen und
sich auch an der Verwaltung des Instituts beteiligen, Erfahrungen in
Lehre und Betreuung von DissertantInnen und DiplomandInnen haben.

Bewerbungsvoraussetzungen sind eine der Verwendung entsprechende
abgeschlossene inlndische oder gleichwertige auslndische
Hochschulbildung, eine an einer sterreichischen Universitt erworbene
oder gleichwertige auslndische Lehrbefugnis (venia docendi) oder eine
der Lehrbefugnis als Universittsdozen/in gleichzuwertende
wissenschaftliche Befhigung fr das Fach, das der zu besetzenden
Stelle entspricht.

University of the Witwatersrand: Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics

Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Linguistics.

Areas of specialisation (in order of preference): syntax, historical
linguistics, cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics. Qualified
candidates with other specializations are nevertheless encouraged to
apply.

Starting Date: 1 September 1999

Qualifications: PhD in linguistics (in hand by starting date)

The person filling the position will be expected to be active in
research and publication (either already in the area of southern
African languages, or with a potential for this area). Such a person
will be active in undergraduate and graduate teaching and will perform
service duties as required by the department and university.

The Department of Linguistics at the University of the Witwatersrand
(located in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a small, dynamic department
of highly qualified theoretical and applied linguists, seeking to meet
