The Discourse Studies section of the Linguistics Department of Tilburg
University has a tenure track job opening for a full time assistant
professor of Discourse Studies (Universitair Docent Tekstwetenschap).

The central research topic of the Discourse Studies section is the
linguistic and cognitive representation of information in text. The
linguistic structures of texts are investigated in relation to the
cognitive representations in producing and understanding
texts. Phenomena in texts are explained in terms of both linguistic

psycholinguistic theories. From these two perspectives, research also
addresses the communicative function of text in language use.
