I'm looking for a book called: Reading Chinese Script: A Cognitive Analysis By: Jian, W. and Inhoff, A. I've searched the internet and all of the university libraries in Illinois, and am unable to find it in any of them. Even a recollection of it would be helpful. I am looking for a good reference or two on the subject of coordination where one (or both) of the conjuncts appears not to be a syntactic constituent. I recall reading a paper on this a few years ago, presumably in the CG or HPSG framework, but can't locate it now. Examples: (1) They have been known to [purchase] and [deal in] illegal goods (2) I took the bus [Monday to school] and [Tuesday to the store]Mail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
