We are looking for a part-time research assistant to work with us in researching topics in the area of sociolinguistics. Some possible areas of research might be gender and language or language in the ESL classroom. The work would be paid at an agreed upon hourly rate, and would have to be finished in stages by a certain deadline. The Faculty of Letters, St. Andrew's University (Momoyama Gakuin University), Osaka, Japan, has an opening for someone to teach English Linguistics (*eigogaku gairon*) and EFL, effective April 1st, 2000. This is a standard Japanese-style tenured position (*shuusin koyoo*), open to non-Japanese as well as Japanese native-speakers, on condition that the candidate is fluent in Japanese.
