Dear linguists, Two months ago I submitted a query concerning research on language and communication awareness of adults actively engaged in business and administration (LINGUIST 9.1679). I would like to thank Dennis R. Preston (prestonMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuepilot.msu.edu), Carla Luijks (cl
isdnet.co.za) and Stacy Krainz (krainz
acsu.buffalo.edu) for their help, especially for the references to an unpublished study and to a book that will shortly appear: - Nancy Niedzielky/Dennis R. Preston: Folk linguistics, Berlin: Mouton de Gruyter. - Stacy Krainz: A sociolinguistic investigation of the cognitive organization of language awareness: Male vs. female perspectives, State University of New York, Buffalo, May 1996. As the number of responses was moderate, I suppose that studies on language and communication awareness in the work place are not very numerous or even not existing at all. I would still appreciate any further information about research in this area. Thanks again. Sincerely Andrea Faulstich Angewandte Sprachwissenschaft TU Chemnitz D-09107 Chemnitz andrea.faulstich
