V6T 1Z1 Canada POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AVAILABLE SYNTAX/SEMANTICS UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA The Department of Linguistics at the University of British Columbia seeks to fill a position for a Postdoctoral Fellow in syntax/semantics. The appointment is for one year, starting July 1, 2000. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a standard course load (5 three-credit courses per year), conduct research in his or her field, and to participate actively in the life of the department. This position may involve limited supervision of graduate students and some light administrative responsibilities. The salary is $35,000 (Canadian). The successful candidate should have a primary specialisation in Formal Syntax and Semantics. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in linguistics, have a demonstrated potential for and a strong commitment to research, as well as be able to teach a variety of courses in linguistics at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
