Visiting assistant professor of Linguistics at the University of South Carolina. The Linguistics Program and the Engish Department at the University of South Carolina seek to fill a one-year full-time position (with the possibility of renewal) in the area of second language acquisition (SLA) and syntax. The position carries a five-course teaching load in a semester system (e.g. 2/3). Among the courses that the visitor will be expected to teach are two graduate level courses in SLA (an introduction to SLA and a course on theory and methodology in SLA), a graduate introduction to syntax. The teaching assignment will also include undergraduate linguistics. The visitor should have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.
