We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

I went to the Linguist Web site to look for undergraduate bibliographies.
I am trying to find a recommended bibliography of linguistics books
published in the pasty 10-20 years that are "core" books for a small
linguistics program here at the University of Hawaii-Hilo. I looked at
some bibs that were a bit beyond the desired scope. Can you point me in
another direction, perhaps?

Message 2: Sorting software

Subject: Sorting software

Dear linguists,

I am looking for sorting software that runs in Solaris, Linux, or Win95.
The SW should be able to treat accented characters according to rules
defined for particular languages.

Please send answers to me, I will send a summary to Linguist.
