Starting date: 1 September 2000 Teaching: candidates are expected to bear responsibility for and to contribute to the language proficiency programmes of the departments of English or French. At the MA level, candidates are expected to contribute to the curriculum on language learning and language teaching. They are also expected to play a coordinating role in the language section of the academic core programme of University College Utrecht. Research: will be carried out at the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS. Guiding questions in the area of language acquisition have been formulated under the general theme of "language development" in the institute's research programme. In addition, candidates will be expected to contribute their expertise and energy to the Language Expertise Exchange, currently being set up by the Faculty of Arts. Candidates need to have broad teaching and research experience in the areas of English or French language acquisition. PhD required. The positions are tenure-track. Tenure will be granted after a period of two years upon meeting the university's requirements of senior qualification in both teaching and research (WP-flow). Salary, depending on qualifications and experience, up to a maximum of DFL 10371 per month. Non-native speakers of Dutch are expected to be reasonably fluent in this language within two years.
